In this edition, we would like to introduce Jochen Loock, our new Customer Success Manager. With a strong 10 years background in sales, consultancy and training in the Additive Manufacturing scene, he's ready to help customer succeed using 3D Spark. In this spotlight, he shares his insights on leveraging technology for cost reduction, the exciting trends in 3D printing and AI, and his passion for helping customers achieve measurable success with the 3D Spark platform.

What is your role on the 3D Spark team?

As a Customer Success Manager, I am responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and helping our clients achieve measurable success using the 3D Spark platform.

What drew you to 3D Spark?

In my previous role at DB Schenker, I worked extensively on price calculation, price comparison, and feasibility checks for parts. I know first hand how time-consuming these processes can be. 3D Spark offers an incredible solution to streamline and automate these tasks, saving valuable time and resources. Looking ahead, I see huge potential in helping purchasing departments and cost engineering teams identify significant cost reduction opportunities with the platform.

What new trend or technology excites you in your field?

I see exciting and game-changing innovations emerging in both metal and polymer 3D printing. Additionally, the rise of AI - driven data processing and cost optimization in purchasing presents a massive opportunity - one that aligns perfectly with what 3D Spark is bringing to the industry.

A feature of the 3D Spark platform that you find particularly beneficial?

The supplier exchange feature, which we are currently developing, and the technology comparison tool, both have immense potential to create real customer success stories. These features will empower businesses to make smarter, faster, and more cost-effective decisions.

What advice would you give to someone new to your field?

Do not buy a 3D printer before assessing your business case and identifying the right parts! Many companies make the mistake of investing in expensive technology before fully understanding how it fits into their manufacturing strategy. A data-driven approach is always the smarter choice.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

"You should find the courage to change what you want and can change.
You should find the strength to bear what you cannot change.
You should develop the wisdom to separate what you can change from what you cannot change."

This mindset has helped me navigate challenges both in my career and personal life.

What are your hobbies?

I love sports, especially table tennis, and I enjoy staying active through hiking, surfing, and yoga. Movement is a great way to clear the mind and stay focused.
